I've followed Heaton Photography for a few years now... after they shot my friends brothers wedding. I always thought their work was beautiful and very unique. When it came time to plan my own wedding I will be honest I didn't think of Heaton first, our wedding was in Vancouver and they were out of Northern Alberta. After searching many Vancouver photographers and not being happy with their price or work I decided to message Heaton. I am glad I did! It just so happens they were moving to Vancouver before our wedding. It worked out perfect!
Sheena was a pleasure to deal with and kept in constant contact over the year. They were the only vendor I had complete faith in and did not have any issues with.
They made our wedding day very enjoyable and they were fun to work with. Our wedding photos turned out amazing. We had a hard time narrowing down our favourites. We got many compliments on our pictures and a couple people even said they could be in a wedding magazine. I was 9 weeks pregnant at the time of our wedding and I sure wasn't feeling my best but you could never tell by looking at our pictures. We would highly recommend Heaton Photography!

We are overly excited to share our friendship and journey with Sheena and Andrew Heaton. Throughout our lives we witnessed their work on our family and friends and we hoped that one day we would be able to stand in front of their camera on our wedding day. When our wish came true- boy did it come true.
When Kody and I sat down to plan our wedding- our very first item on the agenda was our photographers. Kody did not have much interest in planning the wedding but he was 100% motivated to ensure Heaton Photography would be capturing our day. When it comes to weddings in the Peace Country- the talk of the town is Heaton Photography. We made it our mission to book the famous photographers. Beacause of their outstanding reputation and unbelievable demand for their services, we were surprised to find out that they were able to squeeze us into their wedding season.
The morning of our wedding day could be described as a disaster. So many things went wrong!! From horrible hair to babies crying, missing bridesmaids to see-through dresses, it was a gong show. When Andrew and Sheena walked through the door- they became babysitters, hair-stylists, psychologists, and throughout all the craze they were able to do what they do best- photography. If you look back at our photos- you would have no idea there was even one flaw. The pictures displayed nothing but happiness, beauty, and the way I want to remember my wedding day- perfect. The perfection continued throughout the day. During our church ceremony, Heaton Photography caught every single tear that was shed while saying our vows, the expressions of our bridal party, the excitement of our guests, and even though my father died 12 years ago- Andrew and Sheena used their amazing talent to broadcast that he was there with me in that church. They have no idea how thankful I am for this. When we were travelling to the location where we were getting our formal portraits taken I was bursting with excitement and I could only imagine where they would be taking us! I gave Sheena a few ideas about what I liked and what I didn't like. I told her I liked the idea of a swing. When our family and bridal party arrived at the site- we felt like we were in a Disney movie- a real life enchanted forest! I kept wondering how in the world did these people find this spot! Everything was PERFECTION. I arrived to find a swing hanging from an old magical tree with flowers wrapped around the rope. It was truly the most beautiful set-up I had ever seen. Our afternoon was pure bliss. Andrew and Sheena brought music, drinks, and a real party into our session. They made kids that refuse to smile- laugh, men that were "too cool" were posing, and self-conscience new mothers feel like models. Throughout the day they showered us with compliments and proved that they are the BEST with what they do. Our bridal party had the time of their lives during the photography session and that is not easy to do especially with 6 men, +30 weather, and high heels in the dirt. The time spent with Heaton Photography at our picture location was the most relaxing and fun part of our day. BUT it did not end there. We continued to our reception full of food, drinks, speeches, music, games, and memories. Every single beautiful moment was saved thanks to Andrew and Sheena. Even though the couple had a busy schedule the next day- they stayed after their "shift" and visited with our family and friends. That is the kind of people they are.
The next morning was bittersweet for Kody and I. Our day was over and it was time to pack up and go home. The only thing we had to look forward to now was our new life as a married couple but more importantly- our wedding pictures! Haha! It wasn't even a couple days and my phone was blowing up with Facebook notifications, text messages, and phone calls from our family and friends who were completely blown away with our photos. They had only seen the teasers!!!!! They had no idea what was to come and neither did we. Very soon after we received the teasers, we got our USB stick in the mail with all the photos. Kody and I sat down with a glass of wine and relived our day. I am not sorry to say that it was more beautiful via pictures then the day itself. We relived our day without the stress, the mistakes, and the craziness. I cannot thank Heaton Photography enough for that September night viewing our photos- it will be a life-long memory. I did not hesitate to share these photos with our family and friends. I received comments such as, "Aimee! You have the most beautiful wedding pictures I have ever seen!" and "WHERE IS THIS SPOT!" or "You guys are models!" I felt sad thinking about how much attention was given to us and not enough credit goes to the people who built the entire picture from every little detail such as body positioning, fixing hair, the background lighting, etc. These little things are the entire reason my pictures are as perfect as they are. Not because of Kody and I, but because of our photographers.
People always say your wedding day will come and go in the blink of an eye. Anyone who has been married can agree with that statement! I know we do. But thanks to Heaton Photography, I can reminisce at any given time knowing that my pictures are more than I every dreamed them to be. This day was the biggest day of my life and I am unbelievably thankful for the their services. I thank God that timing was on our side. Timing- because Heaton Photography has moved. They are now starting their lives with their children and business in the beautiful British Collumbia! Who wouldn't?! They have marked their spot in the Peace Country Hall of Fame and now are expanding their outstanding photography horizon into the West Coast. I look forward to seeing future photos and tracking their success. The possibilities are endless for Heaton Photography! I wish every bride was luck enough to experience this amazing photography duo!

Photography has always been my favourite part of weddings. After all, they are the only thing that the couple can truly take away from the day to remember it by for years to come. So when Bryce and I got married it was very important to me that we would get GREAT photos. To have GREAT photos you need GREAT photographers and there is no one better than Sheena and Andrew Heaton. I had seen them in action several times before, having been a bridesmaid in previous weddings they had photographed and I knew they were the only ones for the job. They didn’t disappoint. From our engagement photos to the end of the evening on our wedding day, Sheena and Andrew were true professionals. They made our day so special and the experience super fun! These two are truly there for what you need….whether it be bringing a cooler stacked with cold drinks(this is especially important for the bride on hot days), giving direction or coming up with unique and exciting ideas for pictures! When we got our photos, I was ecstatic. We have literally thousands of beautiful pictures which we will cherish forever. Their quality is amazing and it is all due to the awesomeness of the Heatons! Sheena and Andrew are the best of the best and we could not be more grateful that we chose them to capture our day!
I would highly recommend Heaton photography for any couple looking for a couple of great photographers to capture their special day. I am a person who HATES getting my picture taken, I am super self conscious and overly critical about what I look like in pictures. It was the one part of my wedding planning that I was dreading, and panicking about. I had met other photographers, they all were the same, boring shutterbugs who told me what I wanted to hear, and did not listen to any of my concerns. From the second I met Sheena and Andrew in a coffee shop, I knew these were people I would like photographing me and my fiancé. They were warm, funny and completely down to earth. We hired them on the spot without a second of hesitation. The second I hired Sheena and Andrew I went from stressing and panicking about the photography to feeling at ease, it was the best and easiest decision during the wedding planning process. They were the only vendor I had total confidence in and the only vendor who would respond to emails right away and even accommodate an engagement shoot on Mother's Day (thanks again Sheena).
Every member of my Bridal Party felt at ease with Sheena and Andrew and no one was nervous in front of the camera. The became "part of the group" and it shows in our getting ready photos.
I left the creative end of things to them. They asked me "what I wanted to do for the formals," I had no clue, but I had no doubt in leaving the creative brainstorming of our formal pictures with them.
They came up with the idea of a boat and a bridge in stanley park and the pictures are amazing. The video is amazing. Everything was amazing.
Every time I look a my photographs I am so happy that they were able to capture how happy Alan and I were. It was the only time I have looked at myself in a photograph and was truly amazed at what I saw looking back at me. The pictures made me cry, with total happiness.
They made the whole experience more enjoyable and I am so happy they were there to capture our day.
Sheena and Andrew are artists, they truly are. They see beauty in things that others would not, and are not afraid to think outside the box.

Sheena and Andrew joined us for a week in Mexico for our destination wedding. Before the wedding day, they spent time looking for the perfect picture locations in Mexico. Because of that, we have incredible pictures with cactus back drops. They were able to capture the true characteristics of what a destination wedding would be. On our wedding day they made the picture sessions fun for ourselves and our wedding party. They are very opened to any suggestions you may have and they also have great ideas. My husband and I couldn't be happier with our pictures. Andrew and Sheena are such hard workers they give their 100% in everything they do. I also had some boudoir pictures done with Sheena and she was very professional. The pictures were very tasteful and needless to say my husband was also a big fan. Along side them being very profession and perfectionist, they are two great people to be around and we are proud to call them friends. I would recommend Sheena and Andrew to anyone who is getting any type of photography done. We promise, satisfaction is guaranteed.

We can’t say enough wonderful things about Sheena and Andrew. From the moment we got engaged, we knew we wanted Heaton Photography to capture one of the most important days in our lives. Their creativity and dedication to finding the absolute prefect location for everyone’s unique style is admirable. They were very professional, always smiling and laughing, we had so much fun with them! They really went above and beyond any expectations we had. Words cannot express the thankfulness we have for them capturing this day for us. These pictures we will have and cherish forever.
